Help required with survey into behavioural changes pre EGS

THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you for all your responses, we will bring you more information about the project once the data has been analysed.

We have been approached by MSc student Laura Remnant, studying Equine Behaviour, Performance and Training at Sparsholt College ( underwritten by Portsmouth University), for help with her retrospective study into behavioural changes pre diagnosis of Equine Grass Sickness.

100 or more responses are required and Laura would be very grateful for owners with experience of grass sickness to complete her anonymous questionnaire. There is an option to leave your email address at the end of the questionnaire if you require further details about the study. Only Laura will have access to your email address and this will be destroyed once the study is complete.

This is a retrospective study with the overall aim of trying to identify if horses who have survived or passed away showed any changes in behavioural patterns in the 4 weeks prior to EGS being diagnosed.  These being changes which may have seemed insignificant at the time, but on the recollection of the owner may now seem abnormal.  Laura’s questionnaire has been designed to build a bigger picture of the period leading up to a diagnosis with EGS, covering several areas including environment and the horse’s routine. With this information patterns between horses or environments may be highlighted.

Please only complete if you have had personal experience with Equine Grass Sickness (EGS). If more than one horse please complete one questionnaire for each case.
